The Iguassu Waterfalls (which means Big Waters in the guarani language) represent one of Brazilian natural wonders. Savage life explodes on its preserved banks, in midst a copious vegetation, favored by the existing humidity. The number of the falls varies between 150 to 272, according to the flow of the river, and reach a height of up to 82 meters, thus forming a giant semicircle of 2700 meters extension. The spot where the waterfalls reach the biggest flow, is known as the "Garganta do Diabo" or the " Devil's Gorge". This area includes one of the most preserved native forests of the country, abundant in bromelias, orchids, cedars and pine-trees. The Iguassu National Park shelters also hawks, woodpeckers, owls and herons, as well as mammals, such as "quaties", monkeys, tapirs and Brazilian otters.
1st day: Arrival at Foz do Iguassu - Brazilian side
Arrival at the local airport, reception and transfer to the hotel. Right after, we are going to visit the waterfalls on the Brazilian side. The falls are one of the eight most fascinating waterfalls in the world. The water volume is immense, and the steam, produced by the falls, covers the neighborhood, which causes the surrounding forest to be always humid and exuberant. A 1 kilometer long gangway takes us near the falls, from where we have a splendid panoramic view of all the waterfalls. Return to the hotel.
2nd day: Visiting the Argentinian side of the Waterfalls
After breakfast, we will depart in order to visit the waterfalls from the Argentinean side, where from you will have the opportunity to appreciate this view from a completely new angle.
